One of our finest from WW II passed and PGR was asked to ride. About 20 members did and I decided to meet the group at GGNC in San Bruno.

And my friend Sloop Dog that got smacked by a truck was there! Great to see you mobile and looking great! God Bless! Don N, Dave E and Slick John were there along with our RC for the escort to the grave site,
Lynn Tross in her Hummer that is well decorated.

When I arrived, Dave said they are already here and at the burial site, and this was an hour early, and the gov doesn't normally work this way, BUT, we jumped on our scoots and went to check it out...

We wandered in the general area, and the hummer came up behind us... The front desk thought that was the escort, but it was just Lynn getting prepared, so back to the front gate we went.

Doug - Sgtmaj rode ahead of the group to tell us they were about to arrive and we were all set to head to the burial site. Kimo pulled up and I told him to follow the hummer, and off we went.

Lynn's Hummer.

Sloop Dog and Dave clowning around, hiding my sweet Ruby! GBG Don and Daves bike on the right.

I shot a few pics at the service, I don't normally do this but as there was no evidence of a casket, I did. I hope no one is upset.

To my left, first is Hardass, he got his 'nic by sliding down 152 in the early am in Gilroy, moistire and garlic leaves, very slick combination! He and Gary R, who also rode were by my side in lane 4 of 680 when I totaled my first sweet Ruby. Thank you for being there!

The firing squad.

The other side of the gathering. I was a good service to honor one of our greatest generations. God Bless family and friends during this time of passing. Thank you for asking PGR to be there.

PGR - BBQ Picnic in Celebration of Lt Kenneth Ballard

Pics are from top to bottom, click on a pic for a larger pic, text for a pic is under the pic.

Gold Star Dad Tom Ballard had his annual celebration for son Lt Kenneth Ballard on the 4th of July. Ken passed in 2004.

He invited PGR to attend and a few of us were there. PGR had many mission requests in the last few days and riders were having to choose how to support all of them.

Tom told me that next year, plan on it! So we will have ample notice! He put on a great party, his friend from the Midwest came out to do the smoking of the meat, and it was absolutely fantastic! It was a great party and many friends attended.

Among them were three Gold Star families. God Bless you and may the Good Lord hold you ever so close in His Heart!

Curt and wife, I wish I could remember names, I know it... it's just rattling around somewhere, sigh... Met me at the staging place, I had my "sign" flying high.

As we arrive at Tom's specially reserved parking spot for the scoots, Curt's bike, Goldie and one of the Gold Star Dad's bike flying three 3x5's and it looked real fine!

The gent in the middle, back to us, with the vest is the Gold Star Dad on the scoot.

And this gent was talking to him and he's in the American Legion and ALR in our area.

OK, we have to do name tags, I put on Bill, I got tired of explaining to folks that Cranky was for cranking a bike... my bike odometer is now over 72K...

This is an interesting pic, see the flag pics? They did that on the hill side just east of the house and very visible! I guess it lasted a couple months.

Another story board with much history to it.

Tom making a short speech.

Tom having a chat with someone...

The Balsley's arrived also, I apologized for not making their celebration last weekend, but we had an American Legion / ALR event at Reid Hillview Airport, and the heat was terrible and I had enough of it. I asked Debbi to give my apologies to them.

Thank you for the invite and and you did Kenneth proud! Curt, wife and I gave Tom a Mission Accomplished pin, I told Tom, that Ken would want him to have it and he asked me to pin it on... I think he was waiting to be "pinned", but .... no way, I did it the best I could, and it was an honor to be there and do it!

PGR - Army Sergeant Matthew Bertron SJC

Pics are from top to bottom, click on a pic for a larger pic, text for a pic is under the pic.

We had a short notice welcome home so I thought I'd better make it as maybe not many would show up... 20 bikes! Outstanding! Thanks to all that ride! You make the difference!

A pic of some of the bikes...

The group meeting...

We get to the airport..

Nice line of bikes!

Here we are lurking in the hallway! GBG (Great Big Grin) We had quite a few troops come thru! We cheered them and saluted and gave them a great welcome home! Finally our "target" came thru and he shook all our hands.. then slapped Dad!!! It was a friendly slap!!! GBG There was a big hug behind it! He was very happy with the welcome home ride, we heard later.

It was a nice ride and traffic was kind to us. We were in rush hour, and it all flowed quite nice!

Bikes parked everywhere.. we were very quiet coming into the neighborhood.... har...

We are all gathering at home...

Rich (red cap) was telling Matt about our "requirements", he has to accept a pin, a hug, Chappi was there and offered a prayer, and of course, the group pic!

And we had another bonus! Matt's brother was a two time sandbox Marine, Rich is Marine and that could NOT go without notice! He never got his welcome home, so today was his day! We all gave him the same hugs, and love we gave for Matt and all that return!

My last pic of the group talking it up after the group pics... Moose is chatting with Rich. Very good mission! Thanks to the Bertron family for inviting us! It was a pleasure and honor to be there!
